David Vore, contest photographer for the Blue Water / Port Huron areaBlue Water / Port Huron

David Vore retired from the active practice of Forensic Psychology in 2005. He now spends over half of his time as a nature photographer producing fine art prints, leading photography tours, and presenting visual programs to various groups including schools, photography clubs, and various professional groups seeking a presentation of beautiful and inspiring images of nature.

David is a self-taught naturalist who combines his deep love of nature and extensive outdoor experience with photographic skills to produce dramatic and beautiful images. Subjects include macro images of wildflowers and “little critters,” landscapes, fall color and a range of wildlife. David’s photography has taken him to numerous locations in the U.S. and the world including the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he does workshops with fall color, wildflowers including native orchids, and “dewy critters;” various locations in Florida; Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico where he was the first photographer to be selected as the featured artist and cover artist for the annual Festival of the Cranes (for the year of the centennial anniversary of the federal National Wildlife Refuge program); multiple areas on the West Coast; the Bruce Peninsula of Ontario; the Falkland Islands; Costa Rica; and several trips to eastern Africa involving various locations in Tanzania and Kenya.

David’s photographic style is reflected in images presenting clean, crisp, and dramatic subjects that speak to a mood or emotion in the viewer.
