About the Instructor: Mike Moats is an award-winning, professional nature photographer from Sterling Heights, Michigan. His articles and images have been published in Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Natures Best Magazine, Nature Photographer Magazine, Photolife, Whisper In The Woods, Michigan Game Finder, NANPA’s Expressions Books, Pure Michigan Book, Fujifilms Newsletter (Cable Release) and Tamron’s “Angle of View” Blog. Mike has won numerous local and international awards, and in 2006 was asked to join the Fuji Pro Talent Team and in 2009 was added to the Tamron Lenses website as one of their “Macro Masters”. Mike’s first book was released in October 2008 and is called Tiny Landscapes. The book is a how-to book for macro photography in nature.
Class Description: The online macro/close-up nature photography course is designed to be a personal one-on-one learning experience. It has no time limits, so you can work at your own pace. Get it done quickly – or take your time!
Information will be sent as PDF files via emails that you can either view on the computer, or print out.

- Camera Functions
- Composition
- Photoshop
Shooting assignments will be given with no time limit, you can do them at your own pace. You submit your assignment images and Mike will critique them and help with any problems you are having.
This is a personal one on one course and Mike will help with all your questions throughout the course.
Requirements:
- Digital SLR camera
- Macro lens or regular lens with extension tubes
- Tripod and head
- Working knowledge of the camera functions
